Scott Bloch update (Friday evening news dump edition)

The Blog of Legal Times is reporting that the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Dec. 21 filed a misdemeanor charge of destruction of property against former Special Counsel Scott Bloch. The charge stems from Bloch’s Dec. 2006 orders to have three OSC computers undergo a “seven-level wipe.”

The damage to the government computers is valued at less than $1,000.

According to BLT, Bloch is likely to plead guilty to the destruction-of-property charge, which carries a potential punishment of up to a year in jail.
